Welcome to the new Drs. Milburn blog page.  Check back often for updates, eyecare news, research findings, special offers, and tips from your doctor.

Several exciting things are happening in our practice this week.  We are expecting the delivery of new pre-testing equipment in the Medina office and a new retinal camera.  The new Cannon camera will deliver razor sharp pictures of the back of the eye in 15.0 megapixels.  That’s incredible resolution.  Patients will view their pictures on a 40 inch LCD screen in the pre-testing room.  We anticipate having the new system running in the next ten days.

We also received a delivery of new computers today.  Both offices will be going to electronic medical records in the next 12 months.

The Medina office is offering Saturday appointments in August.  Call now because these appointments go very fast.  The office will be open August 1st, August 15th, and August 29th.

Finally, I want the contact lens wearers in the practice to know about a huge offer from Vistakon.  Patients who are new to Acuvue Oasys are being offered a $100 mail-in rebate on an eight box purchase.  This is the biggest rebate we’ve seen to date.  Just back from 15 hours of continuing education at Ohio State this past weekend.  The contact lens researchers at Ohio State were pretty high on the Oasys lens.  Of all the lenses on the market, the Oasys has the lowest amount of friction with the eyelid.  This is one reason that many patients are preferring the comfort in Oasys compared to their old lenses.

Last item, the ladies out there might be interested to know that our office has been chosen to carry the Coach spectacle line.  We should have the frames in the office by the end of August.  It’s a very upscale line and few practices in Northeast Ohio carry them.  Use your vision benefits to purchase a Coach frame and the savings is roughly 50% off retail.
